The project will be on Promotion of Dignity, Rights and Empowerment of Bonded and Potential Bonded Labourers in the Agriculture Sector instates of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Program Implementation and Oversight
  • Have a complete oversight of program implementation in order to ensure high quality implementation of the project in effective and timely manner in line with approved proposal and budget guidelines of the project.
  • Be an active link between the Programs Unit, IPD and Finance Unit for flow of timely interaction/meeting and coordinate significant events such as inception of project, review meetings etc.
  • Facilitate partnership building in coordination with regional offices, units and any other partnership mechanism that the project envisages as per the established procedures and mechanisms of AAA.
  • Facilitate building perspective of all team members on the issue of child marriage.

 

  • Reporting and Shared Learning
  • Ensure program reporting as per the timelines of the project and as per the internal requirements.
  • Facilitate regular financial reviews and reporting as per donor requirements in coordination with Regional Offices and Finance Unit. 
  • Maintain all program and finance records (both soft and hardcopies) in a systematic and user-friendly manner across the project cycle.
  • Facilitate creation and sharing of learning documents as per the project guidelines. Also through six monthly reports/highlights of project, annual reports, end-line reports etc. for the organisational learning.
  • Develop requisite templates and a system of monthly reporting and MIS incorporating highlights of the project implementation, key aspects of reject cycle reporting, and projection of timelines and share the same with relevant teams in the form of regular updates.
  • Ensure process documentation and publication of documents (booklets, documentary, report cards, materials for visibility that ActionAid is an actor in combating bonded labour ) and lead small research projects on the issues relating to bonded labour

 

  • Policy and Campaign
  • Build, develop, lead and drive the national campaign on the issue through well-coordinated and synergised actions from local to national (international where needed) level.
  • Help design campaign and media strategies to build the national campaign and publicize the issue and project updates through print and digital media.
  • Network with civil society groups, activists, movements, academics and research institutions as may be needed to build national momentum to give a push to the issue along with other child rights issues.
  • Engage with key government bodies and institutions for policy and research agenda as may be identified from time to time by the organization.
  • Any other task as assigned any line manager

Skills and Competencies

  • Post-graduation in Social Work/ Economics/ Political Science or in any equivalent and relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project implementation, management of donor funded projects
  • Preferred experience of working on bonded labour issues.
  • Experience of program management of a donor funded project, working at national level with decentralized structure and diverse kinds of partnerships.
  • Be a good team player, gender sensitive, having conviction and skills for the empowerment of the poor and disadvantaged groups;
  • Positive attitude and high energy, maturity and emotional balance
  • Strong influencing and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • High level of professionalism in conduct, ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to undertake extensive travel in difficult circumstances and terrain.
